EarthMotherMosaicsNEWS UPDATES!The Providence Hospital Novi, Michigan mural projects that I have been honored to be a small part of have been completed and are cataloged beautifully in a new book written by Brit Hammer entitled: "
BREAKOUT! Your Pathway to Success". Lin Schorr's vision and a mutual love for mosaics brought global colleagues together creating 4 pieces of mosaic art in the form of "Swirlendipity I", "Swirendipity II", "Amuzapalooza!" and "Heartistry". Personally, I feel blessed to have found such a wonderful group of people sharing the love of mosaics as I do. Thanks to Lin and Brit for helping show the world what an amazing art form mosaics can be.
Brit's book "
BREAKOUT! Your Pathway to Success" featured on her website, includes a foreword written by Alyson B. Stanfield author of "
I'd Rather Be In The Studio!" and can be ordered here:

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Cindy had her artistic start as a teenager drawing designs in notepads with colorful markers and learning the flow of abstracts. This was her first glimpse into how color can be used to create art. She soon discovered needlepoint and cross-stitch and continued with them both for years. Mosaics came into her life in 2005 when one day, on a whim, she bought some grout and glue at the craft store to make something out of a favorite broken plate made from the Blue Willow pattern.
The art of mosaics seems to be evolving and changing almost daily. Many who create them have delved into the fine arts community, which is not easy to do in any medium but seems to be especially challenging for artists in this field. Mosaics are becoming an important part of the artistic world and Cindy is proud to be associated with those people who have made their way into that community.
"Making mosaics allows me to spread my wings and learn constantly as it continues to evolve. My style changes often as I hone my skills and learn what feels right about what I do. New techniques shown by fellow mosaicists and experimenting on my own as a self-taught mosaic artist, creates excitement and joy every single day in my studio. Every day is a new day to learn!"
