ARTIST STATEMENT:

As a professional mosaic artist, I continue to develop my own style as I go. My approach changes often; honing my skills and learning what resonates within. New techniques shown by fellow mosaicists and experimenting on my own through books, online tutorials and just good old-fashioned trial and error, has proved to be what keeps me interested and always motivated. Creating abstract mosaic art holds an element of excitement and joy for me. Every day is a new day to learn and create!

TESTIMONIALS

Regarding commissioned piece entitled "Kinetic Energy":

"I just received my 'Kinetic Energy' gazing ball and I am speechless! It is gorgeous! I keep looking at it and finding new things that are so cool. Thanks for all the hard work and the love you put into everything you do. Because of impending rain (and a selfish desire to keep it close) I have it on a stand in the middle of my dining room table letting the light sparkle and reflect all around the room. Thanks again. It's PERFECT!!"

WHERE I STARTED

Cindy had her artistic start as a teenager drawing designs in notepads with colorful markers and learning the flow of abstracts. This was her first glimpse into how color can be used to create art. She soon discovered needlepoint and cross-stitch and continued with them both for years. Mosaics came into her life in 2005 when one day, on a whim, she bought some grout and glue at the craft store to make something out of a favorite broken plate made from the Blue Willow pattern belonging to her Grandmother. Cindy now smiles every single day, feels joy and happiness, harmony and peace while creating in the studio. All thanks to finding mosaics. She knows her Grandmother would approve.

POINT OF VIEW

The art of mosaics seems to be evolving and changing almost daily which is fairly incredible if you think about it. Mosaics have been around some 4,000 years!

Many mosaicists have delved into the fine arts community, which is not easy to do in any medium but seems to be especially challenging for artists in this field.

Mosaics are once again becoming an important part of the artistic world and Cindy is proud to be associated with those who have made their way into that elite artists community.

"I believe everyone has at least one mosaic in them just waiting to come out!"~Cindy White (EarthMotherMosaics)
