Amongst The Clouds measures 13x13 inches.

Many hand cut pieces of stained glass, silver mirror, iridescent and Van Gogh glass created this abstract mosaic art piece. Grout is a dark gray and it has been sealed.

How it got its name: Most of my pieces are abstract designs and I normally don't decide too much in advance how the design will flow. Often I draw a few lines on the base of what I'm going to work on to give myself some kind of guide to follow. Almost always, colors and textures of the glass come first. The yellow stained glass in this piece is called "textile" glass giving the look of embroidery and is one of my favorites to use. It is a difficult glass to cut and often breaks into slivers. I like using mirror and try to use it in most of my mosaics. I love the reflections of light when it catches the mosaics no matter where you place it, there is a light that will shine from it because of the mirror! With this piece, I wanted to give it a look of clouds using silver mirror to show swirls. As I was working on it, I saw an angel had started to form in and around the clouds. Or Amongst The Clouds.

The frame is black aluminium, hardware is attached for easy hanging. Signed and dated.
